I don't know how a 19 year old gets filled with so much hate. Same goes for those two buffoons loose in Canada. I get angry and emotional, too, judging by how I sometimes post here I don't think anybody would deny that. But, when I was 19, thoughts of violence like these guys did never even occurred to me. Yet it feels like it's becoming increasingly more common. I'm genuinely worried that Generation Z is in worse shape than Millennials. Remember, they've grown up with the internet and social media, they don't remember a world without either. At least Millennials had a normal childhood.
Millennials have had more support than any other generation before, they are very lucky individuals. Like Generation X their families require both parents to work, unlike generation X they had a whole infrastructure of extracirriculars, after school programs, day care, baby on board stickers on cars, etc. When boomers started having the millenials people started saying stupid things like children are the future lol. That is why millenials are pretty great overall, great to collaborate with on a team, etc. Now that they're adults and the boomers are dying I'm becoming more optimistic.
19 years old is still a child in terms of mental development. The completion of the growth and development of the frontal lobe is very important...at 25 people are able to fully grasp consequence.
People are going to be looking for motives to make sense of it all but even if there was an explicit political or ideological motive it's still a kid doing something very evil and irrational.
