It's not murder. Murder signifies intent. This is at most manslaughter or negligence.

After emotions subsided I like to think that I would be rational enough to realize that this was an accident and calling for her head wouldn't do anything. I think she'll get somewhere between 1-3 years.

I wasn't using murder in a legal sense, and I think you knew that.

("manslaughtered" as a verb sounds funny)

and I'm not sure I believe, you, but if you're sincere, sounds like you are very mild tempered. congrats i guess. Just don't know how you can say it's not national news worthy...

It's one death. I don't see how anyone can say it IS.

Well, we don't actually KNOW whether it's murder or not...yet. Who knows, maybe the guy bothered her in the elevator a bunch of times (not cause he's black), and she just decided one day to blow his head off, and make it LOOK like a mistake.

Like I said earlier, this argument about murder or manslaughter, or of sentencing is pretty useless until we know more.

Do you think a drunk driver killing someone is national level coverage?

Do you think a professional driver (CDL) drunk driving killing someone is national level news coverage?

Do you think a drunk driver who happens to be a cop killing someone is national level coverage?

Deaths due to negligence happen daily in a country of 340 million. This is 6:00 pm local news worthy.

how can you not understand that in today's climate it's definitely national newsworthy? I do understand your point of why you think it SHOULDN'T BE, but that's just not reality, but I'll play your game just to be polite:

-it could be, but probably not, depends who was killed

-it could be, but probably not, depends who was killed (think the Tracy Morgan - Walmart driver incident, try to tell me that wasn't national news)

-it could be, but probably not, depends who was killed

again, i get your point, but it's national news worthy lol.

You can't guarantee anything. You're a keyboard warrior that knows some elementary details about this case. You can Monday morning quarterback on every little incident and accident that leads to some unfortunate circumstance but that won't change the reality of our world. Accidents happen all the time. Humans are flawed creatures that are inattentive, scared, instinctual, etc. To think we can somehow regulate emotions or some of our most intrinsic qualities is nonsensical.

A person who happens to be a cop mistakenly enters another persons apartment. Thinking it's her own home she discharges her weapon. The pattern is people make mistakes, thank you Captain Obvious.

The ignorance is strong here.

early stages of maybe the big scary black man killed in his own home by a officer too drunk/high/unstable to find her own place deserved it

Yeah, let's sentence her before we know all the facts. :)

If this is a troll account, this could be a smoking gun right here. Lol.

I'm not say I think Ghot's scenario is likely to be the case .... but his attitude of keeping an open mind going into the trial IS the correct attitude to have here.

Approaching every story as if we already know the broad narrative would completely undermine the legal process.
