That there are bad apples isn't the issue so much as the fact that the system protects them virtually all the time when they're bad.
Im curious if you think the recent string of high profile cases where police where prosecuted and or fired for misbehavior is: typical for modern historical totals or atypical and affected directly by the protests and current social climate.
I know there hasnt been a massive upswing in the number going to prison but it does seem to have increased.
I personally have a theory, cameras. Previous to the Cellphone camera many officers got off because with a dead guy and you being the only witnesses it is nearly impossible to prosecute beyond a shadow of a doubt. Look that the guy who shot the running away and only ended up in prison due to that video, as it showed something drastically different than his report.
Do you think alot of your gripes with the % prosecuted has been somewhat fixed by body cams and cell phone cams or do you have alot of gripes with the procedural handling of cops prosecution in general?
