Probably. They'd have to be in my house, and not get on the ground when I tell them to.

That's why you impaled a raccoon on a beam.

I impaled a raccoon on a beam because it had rabies and was hissing and foaming at the mouth preparing to charge me.

If you had rabies you'd get the same treatment.

Coons are very wary of people, when you run into one it's a good chance that it's sick plus raccoons and possums both can ruin the top layer of hay in the loft and wreck havoc in the rest of the barn I don't know how much feed I've lost to varmits but it's plenty. Possums carry a disease that is deadly to horses, I'm not going to try to spell it she remembers the horse crap.. :P

life in the country can seem barbaric at times but it's really not.

Then kill it? Don't just impale it.

Did you even read my post? I ran it through to immobilize it so it wouldnt get away and bite my dog and give it rabies. Then i ran in the house got my 22 and quickly dispatched of it.

I was like 13 at the time throwing hay down the chute into the wagon behind the riding lawn mower and all of a sudden this damn thing jumps out of the hay and starts snarling at me. I was in a hay mow which has nothing but hay and the pitchfork i had in my hands. And as Bob already stated varmints are generally VERY wary of humans. They usually run away before you even know they are there, so for one to pop out and snarl at you there is an obvious problem with it. Either its mortally wounded OR has rabies.

Depends on circumstances really, for example if they are armed or are looking to harm me or my family than deadly force is appropriate. However i would try my hardest as a Christian to not take a life. Life is sacred and just because i have the right by law to kill it doesn't make it okay. A lot of trigger happy internet warriors on here say that they would take the life without flinching but i'm sure 99% of people saying that have never taken a human life before.Taking another life is a huge deal and the repercussions or impact of that act can ripple and impact many lives. Even as i am going into a career of law enforcement i pray and hope i'm not the hand to snuff someones life.

I clearly did. Why didn't you kill it right away instead of just immobilizing it?

Plenty of animals will growl if you surprise them. One sleeping in a stack of hay can be surprised.
