If you have any vivid memories of that day and how it affected you please feel fee to share them here .

I have seen many important historical events unfold in my lifetime including the Vietnam War , the political assassinations of the late 1960's and Watergate and none have affected me as deeply as that one single day in September .

Being in Australia, I was asleep when this all unfolded. Around midnight my time it happened and since it was breaking news it had been on for like 8 hours straight before I woke up to go to School in grade 5 and saw what had happened.

Back then I had no idea that the WTC existed and I had no idea how significant those 2 structures were.

i was 26 , and flicking thru the channels late at night , when i came across the 1st tower smoking
watched the 2nd tower get hit
watched them both fall
was better than a late night movie

and the next day , talking to friends , we mostly tended to agree
you reap what you sow

only americans died ?
innocent huh ?

the 2 most common versions at the time would be the analogy of the innocent nazi ( yeah , im a nazi , and yeah , i knew the jews were getting it , but the furher said they were destroying our country , and i didnt actually gas any of them myself , so what did i do wrong ? )
and the simple fact , that for decades , the only people who were able to stop the usa from killing so many people , destroying so many lives , were the american voters , and they didnt do it ( here they would say they are culpable , and just because some of us may be aware that the american political institutions were hijacked long ago , and that voting basically doesnt really matter there anymore , doesnt mean that those with the greatest axe to grind with american know that )

maybe they liked their " cheap gas " , maybe they " didnt know " what their govt was doing "in their name " ( here they would say they needed to become aware , and previous attempts had failed , and again , simply because some of us are aware that the american general public is probably the most heavily indoctrinated in modern history , doesnt mean those who have survived american " imperialism " know this )

and the focus on individuals is deceptive
if al-quada did do it , then they certainly didnt do it to " punish " those in the buildings
nor did they do it because " they are freedom haters " , nor because " they are religious crazies "
but i guess the term collateral damage only applies to non americans

there are facts that , simply , are basically unspeakable in american society
that doesnt mean we dont speak them elsewhere

Are you interpreting what they might have been thinking, or is that what you believe? Because that's pretty fucking sick, to actually remove any value of human life. Your "two wrongs making a right" argument makes you look like someone who really badly wants to be seen as a person who doesn't accept "the norm" that you will say some dark shit like that just to make it seem like you're an intellectual.

Yes, those who died in the WTC were all innocent Americans. Are you serious?

im telling you what people i talked to were actually saying in the days and weeks after the event
2 wrongs make a right ? just where the fuck do i say it was right ?
the " norm " ? , maybe in america , but you are decieving yourself if you dont think americas image overseas isnt of a bloodthirsty nation

you just have to ask yourself why it actually happened
literally millions of people died at americas hands before 9/11
literally millions of people around the world rejoiced at the news of the attack

you can beleive they did it because " the hate freedom " all you want ( if thats what u beleive )
the truth is , there is no lack of normal , average , able bodied men around the world willing to fight america , so long as they beleive they have some chance of victory
and that kind of hate didnt happen all on its own ....
