Her intent, her actions and their likely consequences, the actual results by grace and circumstance, and how her actions were reasonably perceived by the people she threatened- are all different things.
She could have intended to 'just' flee from officers, a crime, and in doing so have created the threat to bystanders.
By hitting the gas while still aimed at an officer, she would have likely run right over him
Her getting snagged on ice with no traction and spinning out, may well have saved the officer from death or serious injury
And whether she would have struck him full on or not, the fact she was accelerating while pointed at him was already the moment at which he had every reason to treat it as a deadly threat and justification to neutralize her.
We've got wacko arsonists like Frey who immediately dismiss any claim of self defense as 'pure bullshit' and pour flame on the fires. We've got reactionaries like Noem immediately claiming she weaponized her vehicle and tried to run down the officer. But the mostly likely scenario from the evidence once we've seen it, is that she was attempting to flee the scene and callously put lives at risk and nearly ran over people in the process, a reckless disregard for life from a fleeing felon. She woke up that day having decided to go out and commit crimes and attack officers, the officers woke up that day deciding to enforce the law and do their jobs.
I dunno guy. If Im behind the wheel of a 2-6 ton vehicle and I want to slam that vehicle full speed into an ICE agent, he's not going to be able to fire his service weapon back at me. He's not going to be able to do anything. Ever again. Guess im just build different.
