Well under todays laws, British/French colonization of
land known as Canada today would be classified as an invasion, they came to inhabited land, invaded it, fought and killed local populations that didn't grant them visas.

There were no borders, no actual claim to the land by the tribes that were at war against each other, no laws, etc. A couple of these tribes tried to fight back to prevent settlements and they got blown the fuck out, which was the way things were done back then. No one on Earth can claim their ancestors never used violence to enforce their claim to a land and you seem stuck with this common mentality that indigenous tribes were "peaceful savages".
Most people I know in Quebec can trace their lineage all the way back to 1600s. I can go all the way back to Guillaume Couture on my father’s side who came here in 1640 and worked
