I'm salty when people normalize what Trump does. The man attempted to steal an election, his supporters broke into the Capitol to try to steal an election, they assaulted cops. The videos on YouTube show the level of violence. So I get salty when you treat Trump's pardoning of these people as if it's some normal political thing, like he's just pardoning his corrupt brother-in-law or something.

This isn't normal, and pretending it is makes you not necessarily a Trump cultist, just an ignoramus who doesn't understand the gravity of what is going on here.

im just pragmatic, and i realize that screeching about everything trump does is the most surefire way to guarantee his successor follows is playbook. check the scoreboard.

he was literal hitler in 2016, covered 24-7 so that we could stop his behavior from being normalized, and he won.

he was literal hitler in 2020, and it took a literal act of god pandemic to cause him to lose by a razor thin margin.

he was literal hitler in 2024, the word "facism" trended off the charts, and he won in historic fashion.

you can call him, his supporters, and anyone who refuses to be as hyperbolic as you an idiot. and all you and our country will get is Trump 2.0 because you're proving in real time that they should keep at it.

i respect the moral imperitive to call out what's wrong, but if it just results in more wrong you're not helping anyone. i can tell you got to kill trump and maga forever, but you wont listen and neither will the democrats or media at large. so cry about normalization all u want, its the new normal all the same.

Orange man is really bad; take 393

Chicken little, when you hyperventilate about minutiae for 10 years, no one is going to listen to this latest 'reason' why this time it's so much worse. The American people don't care, we're looking forward, while you weirdos double down on yelling at the clouds.

>" But she was going to murder members of congress with her bear hands 1!11!" pretty comical

When I discuss things I don't think about what other people think, and whether my idea will be popular. The truth is not determined by popular vote.

So maybe that's where we're different? I describe things as they are and assign blame as it should be assigned, and you consider what the majority of voters think before you say something?

I guess I would need to revise my characterization of "ignoramus" to another word.

Yes, crowds of violent people cannot murder people with their bare hands. Never in human history has that happened.

Otherwise this post does not actually engage in the topic.

you're more than free to express yourself on a tiny subforum where your words can simply be truth to power with very little change in what happens to the outside world. thats fine and perfectly logical.

here's the issue, what you're doing here in this tiny corner of the internet is the exact same thing people with 10 million viewers are doing. its the same thing that is said in subreddit threads with 500k viewers. its the same thing elected officials are doing. you're all like a hivemind with the same reactions to literally every event. following a trail of bait laid out by trump to all but guarantee Vance or whomever he chooses wins in 2028. and that trump like senate and house candidates win their races in 2026.

when my toddler throws a fit i ignore her and let her calm down, then work towards reconciliation for the benefit of all. you all, whether in PARD or on CNN, are screaming at a toddler while a country full of toddlers cheer you on.

I'm not sure what you're arguing here. You're saying what I say on this forum has no impact on the world, but you also argue that what you say on this forum is influenced by what the majority of Americans think?

I don't understand your post at all.

To me, this forum is a platform where I can hash ideas out with others. I do not care at all if anyone here agrees with what I say. I post what I believe to be true. And I don't think you share the same philosophy? Unclear to me.

you're viewing the world and making commentary. im viewing the world and making commentary. the difference is your commentary aligns with what we see in the world, and that behavior empowers trump even if the intent is to bring him down. my intent is to stop right wing populism from festering, there we are aligned even if we have a different idea on how it should be accomplished. where we differ is i see the current mandate as a potential tool, you see it only as a danger. we've got a narrow window we might actually be able to improve things, even if we have to take lumps from typical MAGA bullshit that gets through that window too. but if the left digs their heels in and only screeches all that will make it through is maga bs.

So you're saying that you try to craft your posts in a way that appeals to people(maga or otherwise), and my posts have complete disregard for other people's opinions?

Not trying to be an ass, I just want to understand exactly what you're saying.

appeal to people in pard isnt something i focus on.

your behavior in pard is emblematic of a poor strategy to take down MAGA that i see in society at large.

my behavior in pard is emblematic of a strategy i wish the left would employ but hasn't to take down maga.

i suppose in this way you're a victim of simply doing here in PARD what Chuck Schumer does, and im holding that against you. but im sure you agree with him, and think everyone should keep following the "call everything out as loudly as you can and as often as you can" mantra.

meanwhile we're reading media headlines and reddit posts about Elon's week old nazi salute, while the minutia of harm from Trump's EOs and recent moves takes the back page and many people miss it. trump oversells his expertise at every turn, on almost every topic, but one thing he's not an idiot at in any way is smokescreening his moves and playing the media like a fiddle.

The Democrats need wholesale rethink of how to prep for elections and what to focus on. Crying and throwing a tantrum about nonsense wont work, Americans are just tired of that bs. They need to get to their blue collar roots. Sideline the race stuff, sideline the climate stuff and focus on pandering to the working class. Those former things could be part of the platform but should be side dishes not the entree. But one thing they 100% should discard is this, racism, sexism, evil, whatever other fill in the blank shit tier attacks. This obsession with Trump is also not working. Media's obsession with Trump is not working. The focus needs to be on economics and good ideas, not looking at Trump and basically being that little bitch that their whole existence is talking smack about that one guy. I thought this election cycle made this really obvious for them, maybe Icemage hasn't gotten the firmware update yet though.
