If Trump have more loyal supporters in the government it would have been way different.
But I can understand why people in the government don't like him. I mean, not everyone can take his kind of rather direct and no holds barred kind of antics.
Trump's foreign policy is sound when it comes to dealing with Mid East and Russia. He failed with China, but with Russia and Mid East still in the hands of America, China is no threat at all.
But even then, there are red lines not to be crossed.
Just get the Russians to deal with the Chinese, and get government funds to rebuild the USA instead and fight another day.
It's because he's an outsider to the regime. The regime has it's own foreign policy dogma, developed after the war and during the cold war, that those within the regime do not question. It is a dogma. They oppose Trump because he has the audacity to question that dogma and present another approach. The USA is a two-party state but it is still today a single regime, which should hopefully change soon
