Thank God Trump removed the North Korean nuclear threat about 4 years ago.

Afaik, the general consensus is that the Trump-Kim summit ultimately failed to produce tangible results, but was still worth a shot. The current situation wouldn't be any better in any sense or category if that summit hadn't taken place.

Kim has a long history of changing his mind and being unreliable diplomatically.
The threats to western countries stopped for maybe a month or two, then fired back up after the Trump-Kim summit. (according to the news)

Putin or Kim clearly have something on one another or Putin is empowering NK to the point where it's in Kim's mentality to play ball.
Trump even said that Kim is a little strange. Around the same time west media was slamming trump for meeting with kim.

are we pretending the might of the west couldn't possibly run these rats into caves and open up the red sea? we're not bothered enough to try, still paying the bills from Iraq and Afghanistan while we have an open tab to Israel and Ukraine. but we could push these goat herders into hiding with only an ounce of our attention. it's just expensive, and bad pr, so we'd rather accept the issues it brings.
