BTW, when the DOJ is involved, Trump has been treated with deference. They waited several months to recover the highly classified documents he stole when leaving the White House. They only prosecuted him because he wouldn't give them back. This narrative that they are being unfair is horseshit.

Sexual battery / abuse, and then defamed her about it later on.

A jury found to the civil standard, which is typically more likely than not, that he did the abuse, and then that he defamed her.

So the payout is due to his repeated defamation, with a big chunk of it being because he keeps defaming her even after a jury has found him liable. Most of it was punitive damages just so he maybe stops doing it and they don't have to keep going to court.

It's crazy that some people think he's incapable of sexually assaulting someone when he literally said this:

Innocent until proven guilty. I have no no doubts that Trump was a womanizer, but that is clearly not relevant to the current case
