the CFA franc is an ok concept, link nations together under a single currency to create more stability. but the reality is its more like 8 leaky boats tied together.
in the short run they'd need to figure out how to hold a balance of a more stable currency, western $$ or even BTC. then in the long run HOPEFULLY economic stability is good enough to keep your own currency stable as well.
this is all from a very ignorant standpoint for me, im not confident on how such transactions would realistically work in a $$ for CFA conversion.
I think the answer is more likely the dollar, euro or the yuan. Despite the emboldened talk of "de-dollarization" This is a process or concept that would take much longer than people think, if it would occur at all.
Its also far from guaranteed that the Chinese yuan is a proven suitable global currency; Not least because the Chinese system is a cult of personality that makes it unpredictable in nature.

France has always been a great and very honourable nation, and countries should be thankful to have them around.
France and Britain were always the most honourable nations in the entire world during the Age of Discovery. Hell together they essentially invented the concept of honourable combat, giving quarter to captured soldiers instead of torturing and killing them, treating captured officers well, strict enforcement and punishment for war crimes, etc
Though today things can differ. Both Britain and France have degenerated quite a bit.
While colonialization had a net negative effect and led to utter depravity (see Belgians in the Congo for example); And nothing will ever excuse that experience.
But I think it is profound to highlight things that could be considered benefits of the legacy of colonialism.
Railways, infrastructure, literacy and education to name a few obvious ones.
"In 2020, Indian Railways carried 8.086 billion passengers and in 2022, Railways transported 1418.1 million tonnes of freight"
Would those countries have developed to the same level and in a similar way without colonialism? Would those countries have been better off without colonialism? In terms of suffering, clearly yes. In terms of development, possibly.
