There is no one holding kids at gun point to work in coal mines rofl. What's wrong mowing lawns or doing a paper run? I used to clean up and help renovate houses, mow lawns, paper run, pick fruit etc etc without government breathing down my neck, it was beautiful. I played a shit tonne of d2 and had plenty of time for school aswell. Oh and never did I have to worry about buying lunch because I had my hard earned cash to do that for me.

Also I think you are confused when conflating free lunch at school to child labour laws as they are separate issues.

It's human abuse when a child doesn't learn how to go out there and get a job or start a business. Early in life they need to be able to develop the skills to hustle and be independant.

In all animal kingdom the primary objective for the parents is to bring up children who are able to fend for themselves to spread their wings and fly.
No one is forcing kids here to be slaves or abuse them for profit like the leftoids want to make you think.

What's pathetic is right wing troglodytes implying that those against this law change don't want children to work at all it's a disingenuous argument. The point isn't that no one under 18 should work. It's that there need to be protections in place to ensure children aren't being exploited in the workplace. This Arkansas bill rescinded the age verification code requirement for under-16 workers, with no other backstop to prevent some 13-year old from going to work in a warehouse (or a McDonald's).

Why should there be age restrictions for working in McDonald's? First of all McDonald's wouldn't employ small kids to run their business simply because they are not economically viable (need too much babysitting). Same as a warehouse the jobs are limited to cleaning, scanning and putting products on shelves. But if there is some gifted 13 year old who wants to work for an advertising company writing articles and code for websites why should they be restricted?

Also if they are forced (meaning they have no other choice) to work jobs that are a serious hazard. Like operating a chainsaw or washing windows on a high rise building then that is considered child abuse and we already have laws in place for that. But if mom asks little Timmy to wash the dishes at a restaurant instead of playing fortnite and drinking Mountain dew all day then it's reasonable. If a family is poor and struggling to pay the bills it's not unreasonable for parents to ask their child to get a part time job. Or help out with house chores.

Essentially the leftoids are out here with their bandaids trying to fix problems that stem from elsewhere. In the process creating more problems down the line because of dependancy and further government intervention while draining tax payer for other people's stupidity and laziness.
