We're at a bad point in our history.Liberals couldn't stomach Trump's election as it represented a repudiation of the "end of history" (apologies to Fukuyama) that they had envisioned. Now we're seeing the same in reverse. The establishment players right now are undoubtably the most competent, but they clearly have no vision for the country's future. We need to weather the storm and wait for the collapse of this two party system.
Can someone translate the bold for me?
What vision did Trump have? The perpetual infrastructure week, the healthcare reform bill that never was, the wall that barely got built which wasn't funded by Mexico, the fighting with South Korea over trade issues while trying to strike a deal with North Korea...
The idea that Trump had some long-term strategic vision for the United States... is that seriously what you believe? Because he started a trade war with China, as if that was a serious effort to confront them strategically in a smart, sustainable way?
