I've listened to the series too many damn times. Having audiobook at work is a blessing and a curse, i have worn out literally every series that I enjoy. I can no longer listen to Harry Potter or A Song of Ice and Fire without talking along.

I'd be down for a potter showdown any time, the issue is more "quizzes" are just clickbait garbage.

I hope it's the Stephen Fry audiobook.

I've read the entire Harry Potter series at least 10 times (though in Dutch, not English so names are different and stuff). I was the exact age to grow up with Harry and his buddies. Good times.

ASOIAF I've read ~3 times. I've read AGOT and ASOS more than the others because they're the best of the 5 atm imo.

Also http://hpmor.com/ is kinda ok for fanfic but also really circlejerky on the 'muh science' stuff. Comes off as a little preachy.

If you're interested in gritty, kinda realistic superheroes setting I'd recommend Worm by Wildbow. Really long but I thought it was worth it. The best way to describe it would be Worm is to super hero and super villain Fiction what Game of Thrones is to fantasy. At times really fucked up and depressing. Has the scariest villains I've yet to encounter in fiction. There is an audiobook for it, community made so quality may vary.

Possibly. I've actually used the series for a project in my facing history class on top of leisure reading, illustrating the parallels between nazi germany and the pure blood wizarding world and the death eaters. Had a few people say that I ruined the series for them because they couldn't think of it any other way. Heh. Was a history elective that focused solely on the different holocausts occurring throughout history. It was amazing how uncomfortable some people were when they were facing the parts about native americans. The teacher even brought up the palestinian conflict and that resulted in some students even walking out of the class because they couldn't deal with anything that wasn't cheerleading for israel.

I can't remember if it's cannon from JKR herself but the Grindelwald-Dumbledore conflict was supposed to be WW2, eluding to Grindelwald being the mastermind behind the Nazis. The weird part is Dumbledore says he let Gellhart do what he wanted while he was abroad but stepped in to stop him once the fight came to the UK, which implies to me that Dumbledore could have stopped WW2 but chose not to until too late. Imagine that guilt trip, especially for a muggle lover.

I actually started with the Jim Dale versions, then when i discovered the Steven Fry ones it was like a whole new series! If you like ASOIAF audio check out A knight of the Seven Kingdoms read by Harry Lloyd (Viscerys Targaryen from season 1 of AGOT tv show) he's brilliant.

I'll check out that series for sure!

Makes for a might good meme. TBH the "not sure" category should be the 87%.

3% of Hillary Clinton supporters thinking Hillary Clinton should be put in prison says a lot more about how bad of a candidate Donald Trump is than almost anything else.

They'd rather have a President who think should be imprisoned than Donald Trump.

I'd be curious to see a similar table for Trump and how many HRC supporters think he should be in prison. What a divisive election.
