So remember 12 hours ago when Biden was saying the filibuster was tool of white supremacy and those who defend it are kin to george wallace and bull connor?
Well Democrats in the US senate just used the filibuster to defend Russia from proposed sanctions aimed at its Nord Stream 2 pipeline that seeks to circumvent Ukraine and remove their sole bargaining chip to hedge against Putin's aggression.

Democrats filibustered it and the vote for cloture went 55-44 overall, 49-1 republicans and 6-43-1 democrats
The bill is therefore indefinitely filibustered and defeated. Congratulations to the democrats for bravely using the filibuster to stop sanctions against Putin.

hilarious given biden is ideologically aligned with george wallace. both are lifelong segregationists

I mean... us lockdown critics rightfully pointed out for the better part of two years that case numbers are a fruitless metric because the crux is, and always has been, hospitalizations and ICUs. It's a really bad faith argument to then turn around and blame Biden for high case numbers, particularly since it looks like their impact on the healthcare system will be tolerable. And it's not his fault anyway that a new, contagious variant has emerged which evades the protection against infection conferred by vaccines or prior infection. Case numbers are going through the roof pretty much around the world.

Biden has shit the bed so many times on such a wide range of issues that I really don't think there's any need to blame him for a development that he neither caused nor had any chance of preventing.
He deserves blame for the insufficient way the vaccination campaign and the fight against the Delta variant have gone, but blaming him for Omicron would be unfair.

Bidens approval rate doesnt seem to agree with you.

Like I said: he bears responsibility for how the vaccination campaign and the fight against Delta have gone (quite bad), which has undoubtedly contributed to his approval ratings (quite bad).

But it's of course also the inflation, the lack of legislative accomplishment, his failure to "lower the temperature" all that much, his foreign policy blunders, the bad policies that he could execute so far, and so on and on. All of that goes into his approval ratings
