What's funnier still is that even the "pure blooded" malfoys were half bloods (as was voldemorte) and that there was no wizard line alive during the time of the books that wasn't half blood or less, and the "pure" families were known for inbreeding to keep their lines pure, which led to instability and the eventual downfalls of their lines.

I've listened to the series too many damn times. Having audiobook at work is a blessing and a curse, i have worn out literally every series that I enjoy. I can no longer listen to Harry Potter or A Song of Ice and Fire without talking along.

I've actually used the series for a project in my facing history class on top of leisure reading, illustrating the parallels between nazi germany and the pure blood wizarding world and the death eaters. Had a few people say that I ruined the series for them because they couldn't think of it any other way. Heh. Was a history elective that focused solely on the different holocausts occurring throughout history. It was amazing how uncomfortable some people were when they were facing the parts about native americans. The teacher even brought up the palestinian conflict and that resulted in some students even walking out of the class because they couldn't deal with anything that wasn't cheerleading for israel.
