I'm speaking of Christian Universalism.

Christian Universalism is a school of Christian theology which includes the belief in the doctrine of universal reconciliation, the view that all human beings and fallen angels will ultimately be restored to a right relationship with God in Heaven and the New Jerusalem.

Do not judge me, as I will judge myself.

Do you want people to burn in Hell or are you just sure that's what's coming to them?

What you described would not fit my definition of militant at all. As i stated there are mostly parents who are not openly brainwashing their children. But there are parents who are so anti religion that they advocate violence against the religious. I would categorize religious who advocate violence against the non-religious the same.

What do you mean by "violence"? Like, physical violence?

If so I'd say it isn't even a considerable number at all, either religious, secular, whatever, that crosses the line into sociopathic/criminal territory lol.

No, i am not trying to make it seems as if the numbers are equal. There are far more religious people on earth than atheists so the numbers could never come out that way. My original point was that its perfectly possible to brainwash your children to be religious taking away their choice to believe or not believe, it is also perfectly possible to brainwash your children to be atheists taking away that same choice. Watch a parent tell their child that they are allergic to Cocacola because they dont want them hyped up on sugar and watch the child believe it. Brainwashing isnt exclusive to the religious, that was my only point.

Perhaps anecdotal but i knew a kid in highschool who had parents that were so violently atheist that you couldnt even sit down in their house without an interview and a lecture. Understand that at the time i identified as predominantly agnostic so i wasnt even bantering with them. I understand these types of people are rare, perhaps much more rare than religious fanatics, but they exist. (or at least 2 of them do)

As i said there my main point was that brainwashing your children isnt exclusive to the religious. And i know that the hardliners are statistical outliers that dont represent their larger groups.

To further define violence however i consider any invasive actions towards another to be a decent example. Hitting someone obviously fits the bill. Attempting to belittle someone or shame them could also fit the bill in some circumstances. I generally dont like pushy preachy people, from either religious or atheist stances.

agree that brainwashing children isnt exclusive to the religious, but i can hardly figure how to brainwash a kid to not believe something or hitting kids because they are interested in religions. Forcing someone to believe that God does not exist is as stupid to force to believe that God exist, i would more be concerned about what kind of organisation is approaching my kids than what they want to believe.

those two things seem in direct opposition, let me know what you mean by that.

I of course agree that its improper to brainwash your children to believe anything as important as religion. Give them a choice and dont be pushy.

kids doesn't need to be forced to believe in santa claus, even when they realize he doesn't exist they continue to play the game for the fun of it.

anyway forcing to believe that (insert whatever you want here) is stupid
