That's really the crux. The carrier group the US sent to the Mediterranean immediately after the Oct 7 attack was the key support from the US for Israel, not a billion in aid here or there. The carriers signaled to Iran, Hezbollah, potentially also to Turkey and Egypt, that they shouldn't even think of escalating this conflict into a full-blown war on Israel.
Additionally, the rulers in the Gulf states and Egypt don't actually have any interest in creating a revolutionary or jihadist momentum across the Middle East. Could backfire on themselves far too easily.
completely agree with this.

if Israel/Netanyahu werent banking on the US' unwavering support they'd act differently. will we cut our aid? i'd bet never. is the dynamic of the political relationship changing? I think so. I know the US gets away with everything because we are the bullies of the world but realistically how long can we syndicate Israel's psychopathic war and not face consequences ourselves? not long. once the price becomes too high, we will back off. no one is supporting Israel's war outside of the US and it seems that the relationship once built on "shared values" is starting to crack
its quite tricky, tbh it looks inevitable that the war in Israel is going to escalate (no idea how).
