IMO it would be totally worth while economically to spend trillions a year on energy generation to that end. The government should be employing everybody and their mother to create and update solar panels, wind farms, and everything else.

Imagine a world where we have so much spare electricity that we are generating fossil fuels from the air and using that to power rockets for international travel where the fuel is essentially free, and the energy cost to break down and recycle and recast the rocket parts for use is also free.

That's a future we should be working towards.
