This election and video games have intersected in approximately zero ways over the course of the last year, but that hasn’t stopped a Super PAC from taking out a billboard ad that accuses Donald Trump of being the scourge of Overwatch, a Hanzo main.
The new billboard has been spotted by a number of fans, and reads “Donald Trump mains Hanzo and complains about team comp in chat,” and directs people to a website, trumpisnotateamplayer.com.
The website is very real, proving this billboard is not just the work of some Photoshopper. On the site, an artist has drawn renditions of Trump as various Overwatch characters which correspond to different flaws of the candidate, the general message being that Trump is not a team player, and when he loses, he never admits it’s his fault.
Hanzo Trump – “My team sucks,” but he only has himself to blame
Bastion Trump – “The controller is broken,” referencing his constant complaints about his faulty mic at the first debate.
Genji Trump – “The screen has input delay,” Trump hiding his tax returns(?).
Reaper Trump – “The other team is hacking,” regarding Trump’s theory about how the media is biased against him.
Junkrat Trump – “This game sucks,” Trump doesn’t care about American democracy as an institution, and says that if he loses, everything has been rigged against him.
