All three police officers accompanying Chauvin were found guilty on all counts in the 'depriving civil rights' trial. This included officer Tou Thao who was on the other side of the vehicle doing crowd control and in no position to see or be aware or Floyd's condition. Basically, convicted of guilt by association

That's how the law works man :/ Prisons are full of people who are just with people with that person commits a crime. It fucking sucks.

I obviously can't comment on the legal dimension, but from a moral point of view, guilt by association is justified for organized or preplanned crimes, like the infamous driver in a bank robbery who's waiting outside with the engine running. But I have a hard time stomaching it when a guy was doing his duty, had no reason to assume that his colleague would commit a crime and had a damn good reason to be distracted and not notice the crime while it was happening.

Have you looked at the case? I haven't. So no reason to assume there isn't a good basis.
