In Europe, we did proper contact tracing throughout the summer. It quickly broke down during the fall wave though. Our local public health offices which were tasked with it just couldnt keep it up. No chance, not at all.
and there we have it
if your argument is fall wave was always inevitable I am not buying it. I saw the cheap flights to France and England lol, tourism was encouraged like no other. Don’t get me wrong, I understand the financial pressure for it, but to say it was inevitable I think is an easy way out.
Unfortunately America still takes the cake for being one of the most uneducated and irresponsible demographics in the world and we will prove it with our numbers in the next 2 months. People arguing over per capita cases right now are comparing two different timelines, give it time to make accurate comparisons.
In America’s defense, the average American is under too much financial pressure and with this national emergency, and complete failure in reliable economic aid, it was a foregone conclusion how responsible our society was ever going to be. When you have the average American withdrawing $10,000 from their 401k that is a big fucking problem.
This is a multiple level systemic American failure from failed federal leadership, failed congress action, failed personal responsibility. I blame the individual the least because half this country is just listening to the leader who was telling people literally a week ago coronavirus is over (in what twilight zone can this statement even be made). You can only be faulted so much for listening to your democratically elected leader
