scientists: "we need to do something to control this"
science-denying trumptards: "lol, scientists said that at the beginning, they're clearly wrong."
https://i.imgur.com/KRttmWb.gifThe early rhetoric about "2 weeks to flatten the curve" did not pan out all across the West, this phenomenon is not exclusive to the U.S. We cannot just blame the fact it did not pan out on Trump's singular ineptitude since it didnt pan out elsewhere either, even in the places where the government listened to the experts.

Can someone tell me why parents are troubled by vaccines that have been used for 50+ years, baby food that isn't organic, hypoallergenic and chemical free soaps/shampoos and clothes/blankets, but will they let their kid play in the neighborhood with 50 other kids, have birthday parties, let other people hold them/kiss them, etc.? Like I get that very few kids have actually died/gotten sick from Coronavirus, but the "what the fuck will happen to kids down the road that get coronavirus" factor should matter to parents who are petrified of their kids not eating fully organic because additives deemed to be safe by the FDA actually might not be right?
I am just perplexed by this notion and need someone to explain it to me.
The current front runner for a covid vaccine, the one developed by Pfizer/BioNTech, uses a novel mRNA approach which, to the best of my knowledge, has never been used on the general population.
