The broader point still stands though: Republicans who want to defund or abolish the FBI right now all want the overall level of law enforcement to be maintained while all flavors of "defund the police" entailed less cops on the streets.
nice backpedal. sure sounded like you thought it was a good idea when you posted the following, trying to draw a false equivalence between a movement as a reaction to police brutality and racial discrimination, and a profoundly dumb person screeching about defunding the fbi, simply because they dared to search a lifelong crook's lair.

Except that no one suggested defunding the FBI without replacement - the idea is to give the funds freed up by disbanding the FBI to state law enforcement, so that the same level of overall law enforcement is maintained, but coming from agencies which (unlike the FBI) aren't rotten to their core.
By contrast, the "defund the police" movement vacillated between "yes, we literally mean 'defund the police'" and "less cops, more social workers and psychologists".
