The broader point still stands though: Republicans who want to defund or abolish the FBI right now all want the overall level of law enforcement to be maintained while all flavors of "defund the police" entailed less cops on the streets.

DeSantis would be just as much of a hawk on China and Iran as Trump. The war in Ukraine, where they might handle things very differently, will be over one way or the other by 2025. He would also be a hawk on immigration, maybe a tad less so than Trump, I'll give you that. The biggest difference in policy that I could see between these two is on trade, but that's a field where we don't know much about DeSantis yet.
