Hillary is a crooked and disgusting hypocrite, yes. But this doesnt undo the completely mental and unacceptable tweet by Trump.
I get why his administration betrays the Kurds and sides with Turkey (half a dozen American presidents before him did the same throughout history!), but this tone and hyperbole is unfitting and unacceptable for an official announcement regarding a very delicate matter of geopolitics. This type of sarcastic, snarky and hyperbolic tweet is tolerable when he's engaged in inconsequential mudslinging with the Squad or a third-rate liberal talkshow host, but not regarding a matter of war and peace.
The news that Trump would destroy Turkey economically came out BEFORE the news the the Dems AND Reps were upset when Trump decided to pull out of Syria.
The US doesn't always have to physically fight. Our economic power is just as great as our military power. The best part is... no US citizens die, in an economic battle.
From the point of view of the US, here's how things look. Other countries decide that "something should be done" about some incident, and they try to guilt the US into doing it for them. That would be bad enough, but if the US decides to actually go do something... those "other countries" try to direct HOW the US does it.
News flash... The US doesn't "work" for the rest of the world. If say... France wants to go in an protect the Kurds from the Turks... no one is gonna stop them.
I think the US, by fits and starts is "growing up". We are finally learning that we don't HAVE to go invade somewhere, because such and such a country wants us to.
I've been reading many articles, that are about other countries... pretty much "looking down" on the US for NOT rushing into the HK - China problem. Even the folk in HK are pleading with the US... not the UN... to come and help.
This kind of thing is the UN's job. I think that having done the UN's job for the last 100 years....it's maybe someone else's turn. Or maybe a group of someones.
Ever since the end of WW II... policing the world has been the job of the US ?????? Are our sons and daughters, worth less than the sons and daughters of other countries?
I'm sure the US would be willing to HELP in a global effort to police the bad things happening around the world. But that hasn't been what's happening.
