Interesting. On a separate note how do you find Chicago these days? I'd like to move there but heard there was too much crime, not to mention illegal immigrant shelters in the nice parts of downtown. It was fine prepandemic but from what I've heard due to the lawlessness all the crime in the south side has moved north to the nice parts.

Whenever I try to do research on it I find that people claim it's safe due to statistics but as far as I know, the officials are literally not counting crime numbers and saying it's down so I don't know what to believe.

All that being said almost any suburbs SW or North of Chicago are safe. Gotta be at least 30 minutes from Chiraq.

Problem with that is the high cost of living in these areas. Naperville, Orland Park, and where I'm at Homer Glen experience virtually no crime whatsoever but if I get in my car and drive 40 minutes towards the city and it's like I just loaded into a server on GTA.

You either live in the high rises downtown(which are generally safe) or in the outer suburbs mainly North(it has seen an uptick in crime but still the most heavily policed) and SW suburbs. West of Chicago is sketch and SE is "Gary Indiana" and most know that place is sketchier then sketch.

Still a beautiful city with rich cultures all in close proximity. Food is great and most the people are too. Just gotta be careful. It breaks my heart the direction my hometown went but this is a direct result of "Sanctuary City" "Democrat corruption" and everyone knows it.

I lived in Chicago 10 years, left in 2020. Edgewater, Lakeview, with most of my time in Streeterville. Also lived in Naperville but found it boring. Shame that it's in such bad shape nowadays.

There is a subreddit for Chicago and they literally ban people for talking about crime. So I visit the "CrimeinChicago" subreddit now and then and it's just crazy story after crazy story.

You can't in one week go from saying, "Joe Biden is mentally sharp and the doctors said he's totally there!" to then say "Joe Biden's stepping down from running because "It's his time to hand the torch". They basically threw Biden under the bus and then pulled their puppet out from under her desk(Kamala Harris) and said "Looky here! A real smart one! A younger one! A woman! A Jamaican! An Indian! Wow look here!" as if the average American just adored/loved Kamala all along. They didn't. No one liked her not even her own party.

After you say, "Kamala Harris is now the nominee" you don't come out and say that the polls are showing Kamala Harris tied with Trump or ahead. That is a blatant lie. Just think about that for a second. In one week they somehow "did a fair and honest poll" that showed Harris ahead? What a scam? They didn't fool anyone I know and maybe that's because I'm from Chicago where political corruption is so normal we just see the fake polls/statistics and laugh it off.

You simply can't bend the physical reality in front of everyone's face. I was old enough to have voted for Obama in 08 and 2012 but I never did why? Because not only is my state always blue/democrat but EVERY person I talked too was voting for Obama. Literally everyone. Yet now if I mention Harris people immediately say, "She's an idiot". "Screw her". Any rational person would say that even using a small sample size like I did the net result(who became POTUS was the same).

Anyone who thinks Kamala Harris is ahead in the polls is simply disregarding reality itself. If she had all this "support" how come no one I know(half are democrat/half republican) likes her? How come Chicagoans aren't supporting her? Because the immigration problem has destroyed our city. The "blacks" that voted for Obama because "first black president" aren't drinking that koolaid anymore. They know the democrats are giving all this free money to immigrants and not them anymore. Blacks used to vote democrat because they got the most freebies from Democrats. Now they know the Democrat party doesn't give a fuck about them(actual US citizens). Poor black communities getting looked over for "immigrants" absolutely backfired in their face.

Will Republicans win Illinois. No. But the fact that so many don't support Kamala Harris and some even say, "I never thought I'd be voting for Trump but Kamala is dumber then a box of rocks". Extrapolate this to "swing states" and Trump is WINNING not losing. He's up in the polls not down. Never trust the numbers given to you by the government they tend to be skewed to give you the impression the race is "so close it could be decided by one vote". This is because the average Democrat is demoralized right now and FEELS/KNOWS Trump is ahead so they need every person to go vote Kamala for them to even have a chance because they are down in the "real polls". You wouldn't see the level of panic we see now across MSM if Kamala Harris was as popular as lets say Barack Obama. They wouldn't have to lie because Obama was in the lead always and it showed when you talked to people around you.
