Seriously: why is it so diffiult for many on the right to distinguish between Putin rightfully pushing back against excesses of Western liberalism (based) and Putin being a warmongering piece of shit (bad)?
Or, from a different angle: the fact that the modern right considers the establishment position or narrative to be wrong and detrimental on a wide array of issues doesn't necessarily imply that they are wrong on every single issue.

Look at the GOP idiots. clearly FOX has done a great job.. mysterious Democrats and only Democrats are now worse than communist dictators that have been enemies of the US forever.

Also, as much as the simping for Putin by figures like Tucker is an embarrassment and should be condemned, it's not like they are the only ones getting duped by a murderous, fascist regime. There's TONS of simping for the likes of Venezuela or Iran by prominent progressives like Bernie, mainstream Democrats and also by liberal- and/or establishment-leaning journalists. So it's not like this strain of pro-Putin conservatives represents a unique ideological or moral confusion.
