hourly basis, its no longer daily, its a nonstop stream throughout the day.
Carjackings and shootings are so common that there was another reported one while I dug up the details on this one.
So yesterday 4 teens tried to rob the Bryn Mawr Market on Cedar Lake Road. The 20 year old female cashier was not able to open the register and remove all the cash, so they shot her in the foot. They punched her, pistol whipped her, and then one shot her in the torso, then fled in a vehicle they had taken in one of their previous carjackings- these same suspects involved in numerous carjackings and robberies on a daily basis. They got arrested and booked with 2nd degree assault charges. This is the norm in Hennepin County: Shooting people does
not get you charged with attempted murder, which is basically never charged at all now. Instead it gets charged as 2nd degree assault, which has a presumptive stayed sentence;
https://twitter.com/CrimeWatchMpls/status/1471927073560272904They then plead down for even more charge reductions,
then get convicted and get a stayed sentence even if its their 11th felony, and thus never go to prison.
So you could be a father to a 20 year old daughter who gets a job cashiering, only to find out she got shot multiple times, punched and pistol whipped by armed robbers who receive no prison time and go right back on the streets and commit more robberies, carjackings, shootings and murders daily. Naturally, they get a free pass on all the murders they commit that
don't get caught, which is over half of the murders in the city now.
