Even if it don’t make them stop smoking they gotta pay more to be increased drain in the system
It would create a shift towards healthier options imo ?
Maybe we can even give tax breaks for healthier foods idk. I’m open minded lol. 2021 is year of the tomato, 15% of all tomato purchases tax deductible this year !
Very naïve. When taken to courts over "vape bans" the various states that attempted to do it couldn't prove any harmful effects of standard vaping other than those caused solely by nicotine itself.
Yet now they're taxing vape products. Why do most smokers who quit transition to vape? Because most smokers don't care about the "nicotine". It's the pacifier effect that keeps them smoking. Vaping is a healther, cleaner, and cheaper alternative.
However, after the mass settlement agreement, having large numbers of smokers quit and switch to vaping has harmed the bottom line. The states that settled spent that money before it was paid out. Now they need to get paid.
So forget CDC recommendations that vaping is a positive way to transition away from smoking, and we should financially encourage the switch, let's just tax the shit out of that too.
