Which means that testing is truly pointless. People are probably better and quicker judges than a test would be except in susceptible groups, and without billions of dollars of overhead.

Crazy, addicted, fat, cancer ridden, infertile, purposeless.

Historians will look at lockdowns akin to bloodletting.

Masks slightly better than dream catchers.

Modern bloodletting.

My counterargument is that largely the same trends have played out all across the various European states, despite varying degrees of tourism, partying, mask fatigue or restrictions across the summer.

Americans probably are indeed uniquely undisciplined, but not by a huge factor.

We will see when it’s over I guess. Proportionally how affected we were in comparison to Europe. My premise is we will still be significantly worse, despite a month head start

If you developed symptoms as soon as you tested positive your premise might have value, fortunately this isn’t 3/2020 and we know better now. It takes a week for some to develop symptoms which is why contact tracing and testing are important and essential. What people have been saying since March basically

~97,000 new cases in the US today. 100K daily average is imminent.

Edit: Oh, I see that further reporting came in later and that today's new cases are > 100K. Nice.

Wait until people hear that excess death counts reasonably puts the COVID death number much higher than the official number.
