well it IS very obvious though, because if he ACTUALLY was that anal about it, he wouldn't have said that russian winters 'killed' german armies. can't have your cake and eat it.

it's so funny to me because i'm pretty sure all three of us are very well aware of what actually happened here, you're just too proud to admit it - and let's not pretend like you've been entirely reasonable these days. completely misrepresenting what i actually said in your very first post kind of gave it away - and no amount of semantics will make THAT 'technically correct'...

i dont think ive insulted you personally for months. read you sig, i can act like that if you want.

just a few days ago you personally thanked me for arguing in good faith.

what's changed? me, no. you claiming for no reason other than to try and dunk on santara that he is ignorant and then getting caught with your pants down? prob that.

what "really happened"? santara either posted plurals on accident or on purpose, neither of which matters as his statement was correct factually. you assumed he didnt know about Napoleon's downfall, which is silly. and you've been spinning into full argument "goalposts" mode to try and avoid how silly that really is and maintain that you taught someone a lesson. your ego is clearly involved as well as past engagements with Santara, just in a negative way.

what really happened is an American schools a german on german military history, in response to that german trying to school that american on german military history. you can make more unproveable claims about how santara googled w/e. but that's the issue isnt it? you framed this from the onset as a house built on sand. u "claimed" santara was ignorant with no way possible to prove your claim. its 2020, google exists.

Such a pity, and Uncle Pablo agrees, that murican pard desesperate housewives are sticking on old ww2 events because, yes, they have nothing good since more than 75 years...

took you quite a while to google what i expected to be the obvious but incredibly cringy attempt to save face. i think even you are aware that everyone involved knows this is complete bs and not at all what you initially meant, but hey, if it helps you sleep at night...

yes, i thanked you - because you did. i specifically made it a point to acknowledge that since it was unexpected and unusual considering our history - but i have no problem giving credit where it's due, i don't hold grudges. in this instance, however, you didn't act in good faith. you started with a clear mischaracterisation of what i said, and i have no problem calling that out. i told you many times: i'm not looking to forge alliances, therefore i'm not taking shit from anyone just for the sake of attempting to do so.

what you make of that is entirely on you. using it as an excuse to drop the facade and be petty again sure is one way to go about it, but it's hardly the only option - so please don't act like you were 'forced' into it.

my personal conclusion from this little exchange is that you both (re)learned some european history, and that's objectively a good thing. i honestly prefer that to doubling down on ignorance, which is unfortunately a very common response these days. so in that regard, i guess i should have been more supportive of the face saving attempt, rather than being somewhat dismissive...

oh the irony in the bolded.

it's a "saving face attempt" because you "hold a grudge" and have to "double down" on "teaching a lesson".

you built a house on sand, you had no possible way from the start to prove santara didnt know about Napoleon. you tried, repeatedly, to use "plurals" as a way to "prove" this. and what was the result? you were taught a lesson on the winters of 41 and 42 for your efforts. you had one card in your hand, it was a 2, and you overplayed a bluff and lost your stack.

happens to us all, try to avoid grudges and it will happen less. or just less snarky condescension, generally. im confident you can manage that. -_-

generally tho, you're not here to make friends. why, in a sentence or two, would you say you are here?

talk about irony...

already debunked the 'it was intentionally phrased that way' narrative, the 'killing' kills it. you also have to distinguish between 'proof' and 'common sense'. we're not in a court of law, but i still think we're all pretty much aware of what really happened. try not to be too bitter about it, just be happy you learned something - that's a GOOD thing.

there is no irony, im openly condescending AND accepting that this leads me into engagements where my fervor to make people i dont like look silly instead makes me look silly. you're the one on a high horse claiming you dont hold grudges while grasping at the most semantic of single word choices to "debunk" what someone may or may not have known, then you bring up a court of law as if this "killing" single word choice would sway anyone, while also ironically and constantly claiming you dont care about swaying anyone. you'll probably delve deeper into semantics and say "no i said i dont want alliances", tho.
