Another issue is the PCR tests themselves

Expert biologists recommend running ~25 threshold cycles of PCR but depending on the manufacturer some tests use ~35 threshold cycles, in which a piece of fruit cpuld test positive.

The tests dont detect viral load either. Cases below a certain viral load are noncontagious.

The drop in death rate is support for all of this.

It is a chore keeping up with your nonsense

There is no level of evidence to support x concentration increases virulence by y factor

Besides the point that the majority of the first world is now using the same standardized tests which makes your entire post irrelevant given we are comparing country to country

7000 people die every day. It is significant but not worthy of destroying our civilization.

Economical genocide for decades to come if it still going.

Viral load is a critical factor in determining its R0, not its virulence, though I imagine they would also have to be correlated.

Well, to be fair, the US seem to be 1-2 weeks behind Europe in the current surge. I wouldnt be surprised if you see daily numbers in excess of 200k per day by the end of November.
What's interesting, however, is that there are big surges in Illinois and Michigan at the moment - Whitmer's strict course on the pandemic seems unable to stop the tide.

My personal, preliminary takeaway from all those various observations is that seasonality/weather and spatial effects play a bigger role than initially thought, while the impact of political decisions on the general course of the pandemic seems overrated.

One problem is despite what whitmer mandates, the public following it is another story completely. These states have mask mandates but a significant chunk of the population doesn’t abide by it. Nobody is getting fined. Even during lockdown of non essentials a lot of stores in Detroit stayed open. Game stops etc, all home renovations, etc. I personally know this.

The American population is stubborn and Darwinism is playing out. perhaps, to your point, it was always going to play out this way given the low threshold for mitigation fatigue Americans have compared to our first world colleagues

Not sure if we have the same definition of Darwinism. Or the same way we understand it.

Do you know what the word virulence means?

Your statement
“Cases below a certain viral load are noncontagious.“

There is no data to backup this claim at all, you response did not even back up your initial statement. in fact most people would agree the level of virulence changes person to person and such a statement would not only be erroneous to make but impossible to measure

May be I misused the word. I was Symbolically referring to a good chunk of our moronic population walking off the cliff, while bragging about it

Which means that testing is truly pointless. People are probably better and quicker judges than a test would be except in susceptible groups, and without billions of dollars of overhead.

Crazy, addicted, fat, cancer ridden, infertile, purposeless.

Historians will look at lockdowns akin to bloodletting.

Masks slightly better than dream catchers.

My counterargument is that largely the same trends have played out all across the various European states, despite varying degrees of tourism, partying, mask fatigue or restrictions across the summer.

Americans probably are indeed uniquely undisciplined, but not by a huge factor.
