Dude, you don't even know the details of what's happening and you're claiming "outrageous abuse." Give me a break!
I did not claim that this is a clear-cut case of outrageous abuse, I very deliberately said that this was
potentially a case of outrageous abuse. Let's assume you just misread my actual statement and therefore came to a wrong conclusion.
Anyway, nice to see that you, in fact, agree with my sentiment:

Having said that, it's certainly possible that some innocent parents were targeted by local, state, and/or federal law enforcement[...]

The DOJ simply doesn't have the resources to track every single Karen in every single state. The only reason you're concerned is because the right wing media you consume TOLD you to be concerned. The right NEEDS to be perpetual victims because fear drives people to the polls. Someone gets banned from Facebook for saying racist shit? FACEBOOK IS CENSORING CONSERVATIVES! Someone threatened a school board member near their home? THE FBI IS GOING AFTER CONSERVATIVES! It's the same shit over and over again. It's not that hard to google "school board members threatened" to find dozens of stories where folks are threatened with violence.
Social media disproportionally censoring, deleting or silencing conservative voices and viewpoints is a fact at this point; I can't take anyone seriously who disputes that. (Whether this is happening systematically or intentionally, as part of a larger agenda or conspiracy, is a different question and much harder to prove.)
Another factor to consider: how often do bouncers, salespeople, referees at sporting events and the like face threats of violence? All the fucking time! No sane person would suggest labeling those who make these threats as "domestic terrorists", it's absurd. I don't see why teachers or school board members shall be a protected class in this regard.
If threats are credible and rise to the level of criminal offense, they shall be prosecuted - but accordingly, not by pulling out disproportionately big guns like tagging (and prosecuting) someone as a terrorist. Which brings me back to my original impression (for which I of course don't have hard proof): that butterflies were broken on the wheel here because the aforementioned chilling effect against consevative parents/the formation of a new grassroots movement was the true goal.
