I dont believe in Jesus cause he said: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear" Matthew 6:25

...first I will give you the complete citation -

<< Matthew 6:25 >>

New International Version
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

...and then ask you why this particular Scripture holds you back from believing in Jesus ?

Heaven is a state of mind for the living, and a nightmare for the dead

I always found this "saying" interesting.

I think i heard this on a Civ game tbh but not sure  Google didn't find anything on it but still stuck with me, no matter the source.

/EDIT

and to stay on topic, that prayer at the bottom of the 1st post, how many believe that Jesus went to hell during the 3 days?

Meh. I've studied philosophy - particularly ethics, epistemology, and the philosophy of religion - quite intensively for a number of years. I could comfortably debate anyone on here about God's existence or whether or not Jesus lived. The problem is that this forum is filled with fanatics who *shock* believe and try to back up why they believe rather than looking at the evidence and determining from there.

Further, once you get a ways into philosophy it is pretty difficult trying to have any type of redeeming conversation about it with someone who isn't read themselves. It's like talking football with someone who only watches the Superbowl every year. I have resigned myself to almost never debating religion because, honestly, there is no point, but I am sometimes tempted to post things that declare my overall feeling, such that religion is stupid.

I took three philosophy classes at the community college seven years ago and read way into it until about a year and a half ago. I spent most of that reading about the theory of knowledge from Leibniz and Hume through Kant, reading Nietzsche, and reading Rawls - as well as a lot of stuff on poststructuralism and related philosophers... Derrida, Wittgenstein, etc.
