To me the bible is more meant to be a learning tool and not all the answers are actually in the bible but instead inside "you" and it's more about what you take from the bible that maters.
I think a lot of the haters of the bible possibly expected it to or wished it did actually have all the answers to every question.

I personally believe trying to refute the bible by showing small mistakes in it is childish if you really want to refute it you'll have to show that the philosophy behind it is flawed in some way.
