Seasonal variability in vitamin D levels rises in the summer: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4512566/

This study states that there is a 54% increase in Covid19 infections amongst people with vitamin D levels that fall below 20ng/ml (deficient): https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0239252

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Dat VitD could DDDDDDDefinitely play a role

It is well known to be important for normal immune function but I don’t know if it’s the make or break factor.

seeing so much of this, hospitals flooded here and people needing care are being filtered into emergency rooms and then charged a lot more from what i hear. OR sent home with oxygen because the beds are all full.

family friend and his wife were super anti precaution, literally daily facebook posts saying its a hoax and just a flu, etc. well, he got it, and the next day it shifted to asking for prayers because he was hospitalized via emergency room, then sent home because beds were full with oxygen. still not doing well. funny how we have to pray for just a flu and a hoax huh? they've got savings im sure, but its not gonna be a fun bill.

What city do you live in again? My wife’s family is from Sheboygan. Maybe the beautiful beach there distracts them from the world because I’m convinced the average IQ there is somewhere between 73 and 73

yep, and for sure Dr Fauci told people that taking supplements can help, in particular vitman D if they have lower than sufficient levels, and also to maintain a healthy diet. i’m sure it’s a racist and whatever buzzword here requirement to ask of people tho

The BBC said there isn't much evidence for it and it's limited to a few studies, but the government will likely encourage people to take them soon. Why not, there's no downside risk.

south of Oshkosh. Appleton/Oshkosh was rated #1 hotspot in america by New York Times.

Sheboygan is in that range as well, just on the south of Oshkosh by 25 miles or so.

you're not off on the average IQ, people are beyond stupid around me.

that beach might be beautiful but Lake Winnebago is gross lol. i used to metal detect there and holy shit some of the gross stuff i pulled out or picked up from there.

If you’re skin is dark and I am forced to make a bet I am betting that your levels are low

When I was in Detroit I don’t think I tested one person that didn’t have some degree of vitamin D deficiency. I’m brown I bet I have some as well and I would bet my home duffman has some Relative deficiency

you won’t be able to setup a proper study but we already know vit D plays an essential role in immune function. It’s as you say, no/minimal downside risk

mentally?

I mean I love Wisconsin. I went to tosa for Hs Carroll for undergrad, and have spent a lot of my life there. It’s a great state, but rural Wisconsin is just a cesspool

it’s interesting because east asians eat a lot of products high in vitamin D but south asians not as much - i dont think fish are as popular in south asian cusine and i eat quite a bit of indian and the like food.

you could always just slam a glass of milk too. inky says it makes you grow man boobs but i just do pushups and bench press to counter that. i also eat a lot of salmon, perks of being near a coast.
