To be fair, back in February, a lot of us were still in denial and thought that this virus could be mostly contained in China.

Not really. Governments were being dishonest to not spook the 1%.

10x as many people died from missed chemotherapy, and missed knee replacements, than coronavirus. don’t you know this?

Sounds like a good argument for M4A.

Hilarious when i remember how trump mocked chinese people, saying it was "so bad" with a terrific tone of irony.
Such a poor fuck.

Sometimes I wonder if you're contrarian just for the sake of being contrarian.

Trump saying he'll be leaving Walter Reed by 6:30 pm to continue recovering at the White House.

I anticipate that the narrative that will manifest going forward is that Covid-19 isn't something to be afraid of, and that this will actually further empower Republicans in their efforts to re-open businesses and other arenas across the country.

Maybe.

I think people are too quick to jump to narratives though. For all we know Trump really did catch Covid and made a really fast recovery because he got tested so often and it was caught super early and was receiving top-shelf medical care. Maybe he'll downplay it, maybe this speedy recovery is just a testament of the massive amount of improvement in treatment we've seen developed in the last 6 months. The death rate has dropped significantly since April.

If death/million dropped from 7 to like 1-2, why shouldn't we start opening?

I don't mean to imply a connotation to my thoughts of the forming narrative. I just think it will be the case. I've since gone to look at Trump's tweet, and it seems like the narrative is already forming:

If a disease is less deadly now than it was 6 months ago because of advancements in treatment imo it is a really important consideration in opening or not.
