Officially C19+
body aches for sure, feels like ive gotten my ass kicked. runny nose but im mask on 24-7 now with a baby and wife in the house unless im locked in the basement, so that could be contributing. no fever, no cough, etc. congested, brain fog for sure, feels like i cant wake up. but overall happy my case is fairly mild.
havent had a cold in 15 years so was hard to tell if it was a cold or what. then 3 dudes from work all tested positive, 5 dudes left to get tested, and me and like 5 other dudes who all had similar symptoms were like shit, i guess we get tested now too....
so far about 25 out of 75 people in my company are either positive, or have gotten tests with the same symptoms. geeee, who'd have thought that no one wearing masks EVER since this started could lead to an outbreak. 2-3 people out of 75 wore masks for months now, ive been wearing mine whenever i leave my cubical for a month or so, no other masks to be seen in that place and plenty of jeers for wearing one.
off quarantine monday, then ill be able to hopefully breathe a bit easier knowing ive gotten it and beaten it already. but not gonna lie, watching your already run down wife and first time mom struggle to do 100% of the house work and newborn care is by far the worst. id take far worse symptoms over that.
The anti-safety crowd in this country is insane and aggressive. This is going to be an expensive lesson for the company and a shitty lesson for your peers.

There is so much magical thinking about this in terms of people either saying it isn't real or saying that if we all just wear our mask and cross our fingers it will go away in a month. The reality is that people just need to figure out how to do business in this environment and do their best without government getting in the way. The mandatory closing of restaurants and businesses shouldn't be occurring. Restaurants and businesses should be able to try their best and if they fail then they close or settle it in court like everything else. Same with employers and disability...we have workmen's comp and at will employment, work from home, a robust welfare state for crises. A living wage and universal healthcare would be better. Repealing ACA would be unimaginable right now but certain people would do it.
You should probably be able to sue the pants off of your employer for not providing equipment necessary to do the job safely, provide training for that Personal Protective Equipment, and making a policy to use that equipment when working. We cover our eyes, nose, mouth, and provide direct services to individuals with Covid-19 in emergency situations including physical restraining of those patients when necessary and anecdotally none of my team (about 12 peeps) has become ill. The equipment works. It isn't 100% fool proof and it isn't the best feeling thing but it is like wearing a condom you don't regret using it.
