May be because Kyev was burnt and raped by Mongols and was never restored fully until pre-Soviet and Soviet times. Kyev as a part of Poland was struggling Holodomor somehow, but that Holodomor was democratic and European oriented.

It was hard to find Moscow on the map those days, so they burnt Kyev again, making it's population to flee sometimes to Moscow. Modern day Kyiv citizen has zero Slavonic blood. Russia's economy is collapsing under its war-time efforts. It's numbers are juiced by war production as everything it produces gets shredded on the battlefield.

This revealed that Russia was a paper tiger that can't handle a military a tiny fraction of the size of the EU. This is an insane victory for the USA at an insanely low cost. Total EU and USA aid was like, 150 billion? Basically pennies as far as war spending is concerned especially when you account for the fact it wasn't even newly made things. It was stuff we had sitting in a warehouse already made for the most part.


Russia has already lost this war in every meaningful way. It didn't take almost anything important. It had its military and economy annihilated. It lost its biggest point of leverage, being its threat of military action. So yeah, get rekt Ruskies.
