because sun light only penetrates 300-600 feet in the ocean depending on pressure - if the sun was really 93 million miles away - it's intensity would light up the bottom of the oceans
i think 96% of space is thought to be dark energy or dark matter and we have no idea what it is so that idea that it is a "vacuum" is improbable - also nature does not produce vacuums.

Light, like any electromagnetic-wave, is absorbed in matter its range is infinite not its amplitude. The 96% dark matter idea just comes from us not being able to understand certain phenomenon in the universe and using the idea to postulate a hidden mass in certain sections of the universe -- it has nothing to do with space being a vacuum or not. It's not even a theory at this point.
The absorbed energy excites the molecules in the matter heats them up. This is consistent with the conservation of energy.

The idea that light travels for infinity in space is 100% a presumption that space is a vacuum and since it ha no resistance therefore it can travel forever but if we dont understand what most of space is or can prove its a vacuum and vacuums in nature dont happen and really its only a theory that everyone accepts as 1000% true oh and they guys that are saying this are all masons who are sworn liars too, not really a fan of liars.

I believe we were talking about light, if you wish to discuss electro-magnetism I would agree that it has little to do with the inverse square law or space being a vacuum.
