I tend to agree and you may be correct but I hope Israelis understand that it was on his watch the border was breached; Ok it was a surprise attack. Though they spend a lot of time and effort on intel and deterrence.

the breach is several factors : luck, re-cycled preparations and training over and over that i suspect took place away from Gaza, holiday in Israel and il be more specific: it was Sabbath day - a day after a holiday - so in terms of vacations it's worse than a holiday, lack of communication between
several critical organizations, lack of weaponry in most of the near-border houses, etc.
