Catholics oppose contraception because sex fulfills a clear and necessary biological purpose.

Scientists could come out tomorrow and say "humans have always done the sex casually and in fact non reproductive sex has always been important at every level" and you wouldn't care

So don't pretend you or other catholics position is in any way based on biology or evidence. It's based on your magic book

reproduction is a biological purpose, even if non-reproductive sex is still a part of human biology.

that said ive always found the issues with contraception to be idiotic among Christians, even though catholics have at least gotten smart to preach natural family planning, aka the rhythm method. which is something that sounds made up when you first hear it but has very good results. just dont bang 3 days per month.

Divorcing sex from reproduction is the Catholic problem with contraception. Given the global handwringing over collapsing birth-rates in the developed world, perhaps they have a point.

That falls under the purview of history, and historians already have very good answers to those questions. The notion that Catholics see sex as a sterile, reproductive-only act is nonsense. I'd recommend having a chat with a priest if you want to know more.

collapsing birth rates are a short term problem when the population graph is too top heavy. after they die it leads to a more prosperous world.

It's sickening how the left loves to kill babies

its sickening how the right virtue signals by proclaiming the 'sanctity' of human life but they actively support locking migrant kids in cages, cut programs that feed hungry children and call for the death penalty for women who choose to seek abortions. hypocrisy at its finest!

The oft-cited solution to which is to import unskilled third world labor to make up for it. Someone is wrong here.

The problem with negative population growth is declining production, which contributes mightily to deflation and lower rates of innovation. I choose the vibrant, forward looking future.

Fast-forward a few decades and religion probably wont even be in the discussion anymore. Its dying rapidly. Members of the Catholic Church is down well over 20% in the last 20 years? At least here in Canada.Predictions out there saying its dead by 2040-2050.

the idea that the USA will need low skilled labor by the time our population graph looks anything like Japan's is laughable to someone such as myself who works in the automation industry.

Since you're admitting the opposition to contraception has nothing to do with its "clear and necessary biologic purpose" I have no need. You've ceded to my argument.

Your reading comprehension is predictably poor.
