Some people shouldn't comment on things.
Many of which are in this thread.

As they use one offs in an attempt to prove their point valid.
But.
If they're presented with one offs that would prove their point invalid. They will completely ignore this.

gun laws in NYC don't even say you can't own a gun, they just make it hard to get the license

In the UK you are allowed to own a shotgun (More for pest killing). Your gun has to be kept in a secure, locked cabinet which gets inspected once a year.

Isn’t the UK also where you go to prison if you defend yourself in a home invasion?

There have been a lot of ironic stories over the years. Duncan Ferguson being one, but not to what I think you are suggesting?
