You missed the point. Japan is very different than the US in many ways legal and cultural. Pulling and comparing numbers from their to guide a solution in the US is like comparing apples to seaweed, near worthless analogy. For a simple example, Japan still operates mental asylums. Meanwhile the US has outlawed them for years and intermixed the mentally unfit with the general public.

Japanese are top notch at dreaming up disgusting ways to hurt people. Just watch their Anime or Google the notorious unit 731. Should make any old school German proud

i know, i know... it's everything but the obvious, it's everything but the item specifically designed, refined, and optimised to KILL. i guess america simply has a CULTURE that doesn't value school children, guns don't make a difference, but at least they dont have disgusting anime, which obviously is much worse than dead children...

seriously, the hoops gunsexuals are willing to jump through, the mental gymnastics they are performing to delude themselves, it'd be impressive if you didn't know the price they are willing to pay for it...
