Not aiming for a leg. Center of mass. If you're going to shoot, shoot to kill. Do I value my dog's life over that of an intruder? Absolutely. Much less the lives of my wife and kids. My kids and I hunt, I'm not so sure they're going to be squeamish about an intruder's blood on the floor. And no, I don't care what their true intentions are when they break in. Wrong house, motherfucker.
Here we still field dress animals in elementary school.
https://nunatsiaq.com/stories/article/kuujjuaq-kindergarten-class-learns-to-skin-a-caribou/Its very common, especially during bird season to take a day and teach kids in class how to properly skin and field dress an animal.
I feel like anywhere in Southern Canada the educators would be immediately fired but its the way of life up here.
Same with whales. If whales come in you catch it and hack it up on the shore as a community.
I bet most kids under 10 here would out shoot me any day with a rifle.
