I was having this discussion with someone on another forum. He said that once a trans woman athlete has started hormone therapy (that either mimics female hormones or otherwise suppresses testosterone) for a period of time, all the physical and physiological advantages that "she" has had over cis-females will be gone. Apparently, according to him, estrogen has a "weakening" effect on a person's body. But to me, if a trans woman's physiology is sufficiently weakened by estrogen, wouldn't a cis woman's be weakened even further, because the latter has had estrogen in her body for longer than the former?

And this doesn't even take into account things that are structural, things that cannot be undone by hormone replacement. Such as having a bigger heart, being of greater height, having greater lung capacity..etc and many more. All of these things are barely altered by simply placing the body on hormone therapy.

Apparently, some people think it's bad to exclude trans women from participating in women's sports. They want sports to be inclusive and open to all. However, I feel that this can result in unfairness to cis women. We make two teams, one for men and the other for women, for a reason. It's because we recognize that it's not fair to make women compete against biological men.

Anyway I would like your thoughts.

People talking about gender identity at school aren't making kids gay Sirthom, they are encouraging kids who would otherwise struggle with self-love be able to accept their own identity. There aren't more homosexual and transgendered children, there are just less of a percentage of them forced by their families and schools to live in the closet. This is okay.

Look, I've never changed a bigot's mind when they've said "X category of people should not have rights/exist", be it Jew, mentally ill person, sexual minority, racial minority, doesn't really matter, it is literally all the same thing. In the end we will just agree to disagree Sirthom. But I hope you grow into some understanding and empathy.

I'll probably be suspended for this post for some fucking reason so I might not be able to respond for awhile.
