Adherence to some semblance of truth, and adherence to democracy, are more important than questions of policy. I won't support a political party committed to overthrowing democracy if they happen to agree with me policy-wise. I guess we disagree on that point.

Why does it seem impossible for you guys to operate under the premise that the political right in America is rotten to its core, but that the only existing alternative is unacceptable for conservatives as well? Perhaps because things get a lot more complicated and messy under this premise and force a moral gray zone, rather than keeping up the self-righteousness and going for a simplistic "vote Democrats to punish the GOP until the party is either destroyed or heals itself from within"?

In particular, we must keep in mind that unchecked power begets corruption and complacency. The consequence from a critical mass of ""true"" conservatives boycotting the GOP (or even voting Democrat) would be to turn Democrats into the undisputed majority party of the country which doesn't have to fight electorally or to deliver policy-wise to maintain its majorities. Imho, it is completely asinine to assume that a destruction of the GOP would create less corruption, less abuse of power, less ideology-over-truth.

At the end of the day, someone who votes Democrat and who would be willing to sacrifice all conservative priorities and see the Dems accomplish all their policy goals and implement their full agenda is a Democrat, not some heroic LastTrue™Conservative. Just go ahead and finally admit it to yourself.

We know conservatives will abandon democracy before conservatism. That is their values and we have to deal with them trying to dismantle democracy while they still can.

A growing share of hispanic voters will go the way of "ethnic whites" before them, like the Irish, Polish or Italian Americans, and increasingly start identifying as "white" and vote as such. And when that happens, the "emerging Democratic/demographic majority" dream goes out of the window. White (sic) liberals were the only demo with which Trump didn't improve his vote share in 2020 compared to 2016. It was Karen, not Jamal, that voted him out of office.
