This is simply a natural resource grab by Russia. If you look at their geographical maps if ukraines natural gas, and oil deposits, you'll see coincidentally its all the places russia is invading. There won't be a war, Russia is just Saber rattling until they can strip either those places, or those resources. If ukraine kept those resources, and built pipelines they would cripple russias gas, and oil exports essentially bankrupting the country.

So Ukraine has gas for export. Impressive. I thought they were leeching on that old Soviet pipeline for decades and this war is all about it since Nord Stream 2 was put on hold right before Russian "exercises" with invasion followed. I hope you meant natural gas, not petroleum.

Well I did say natural gas, I didn't think I'd need to add it on again. They also do have petroleum reserves, and deep oil reserves that aren't in their current estimate. They do however have like the largest natural gas reserves in europe, may be 2nd don't remember.

Half of Ukrainian natural gas, i bet Germany and some others will be glad to give panzers or zimzoum-zers to get it back at some point.
Or to obliterate the site, forbidding its exploitation.

They are stockpiling Russian gas in the 2nd largest facility in Europe, that's it.
