I watched bits of the video, didn't watch the whole thing in its entirety, and my understanding is that some kid flipped an officer the bird, and the officer detained him on some flimsy grounds. If this is all there is to it, then I have to agree that the police officer had overstepped his bounds. However, I have to allow for the possibility that maybe he truly thought there was something suspicious that the kid was getting up to. For one thing, for someone to exhibit hostility towards cops like the kid did, almost immediately this will place you on the officer's radar. Case in point: if you stand around on a street corner in a high-crime area and you in addition, eye cops with animosity, well guess what, the cops are going to be very wary of you. And the slightest move from you is likely to be perceived as a threat by the officers in question.
Also, the kid was being stupid. One does NOT disrespect an authority figure like that. Not when said authority figure carries a gun and has the ability to ruin your day.
This specific scenario was addressed in the video. Long story short, it is explicitly illegal to arrest somebody for merely being in a "high crime area". So if you were in a high crime area and shot the cop a dirty look, and the cop did anything to you, that cop would be in the wrong.

I can sympathize. Sometimes I feel the same way.
That's because you are also triggered by facts.
